Shipping Terms & Conditions

All posted items are fully insured through our business insurance.

UK Orders

Postage is free for orders from our website to be delivered to a UK address. We aim to dispatch items within one to two working days of an order being received using Royal Mail’s 2nd Class service.  Please contact us by email at becksidebookspenrith@gmail.com or phone if you need the item sooner.

Bulkier items will be posted using a courier to reduce costs.

We recycle old packaging where possible but will always ensure that your parcel is very well packaged so it arrives in the exact same condition that it leaves us.

International Orders

If you would like a book to be delivered overseas, please contact us on becksidebookspenrith@gmail.com for postal charges. Orders are by Airmail, International Signed and Tracked or by courier for heavier or larger items.

Items remain the property of Beckside Books until full payment has been received, and orders must be sent to the card billing address except by prior agreement.

Trade Discount

We can offer a trade discount to all bone fide members of the book-trade. Please contact us prior to purchase to arrange discount terms.

Returns & Refunds

We take pride in the accuracy of our descriptions and will always err on the side of caution to ensure certainty of your satisfaction.

We collate our books, to ensure they are complete, by ensuring that the contents exactly match bibliographic information from other trusted sources, however, this, unfortunately, cannot be done with every item. We will always have a flick through for faults and note them accordingly, however, if you find any faults with the book that are not included in our description then we are very happy to refund all costs once we receive the item back in the same condition that it was sent in. If a book has been fully collated by us then it will have C+C with a date and initials (KM or GLB) pencilled lightly inside the cover and will usually be included in the item description.

If you’re unhappy with your purchase for any reason, please get in touch within a fortnight of receiving your order.  Returned items must be dispatched to us within a week of emailing us.

Upon receipt of the returned item, we will issue a full refund including your original postage cost. If the book was inaccurately described, we will also refund the return postage. Our return postage refunds are limited to an amount equal to what you paid us in the first instance for the outward postage.
